Expectations for Your Pumpkin Patch

Longevity
As successful as Pumpkin Patches have been, it is important to be realistic in your expectations. Last year we had churches who sold over $110,000.00 worth of pumpkins. We also had churches that sold as little as $600.00. Most organizations fell somewhere in the middle. The average Pumpkin Patch last year earned $4,000 for their various projects.
We know that it takes time and effort to build a base of repeat customers. Sales typically increase with every passing year. Clearly, repeat customers help spread the word as your Pumpkin Patch gets a well-deserved reputation for quality, competitive pricing, and good service. With annual profits in 2000 of $44,000, Mandarin United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida has no problem with the moniker of "Pumpkin Church". For them the Pumpkin Patch is the Mandarin Youth Program's largest and most successful fundraiser. It has also become an important ministry of its own—bringing first-time visitors to the church.
